VT Afterschool for All Legislative Day

The 2010 Vermont Afterschool for All Legislative Day was held on March 25th in Montpelier, VT. This event brought together afterschool program providers, professionals, students, partners, educators, and advocates to:
- Meet with legislators about the importance of afterschool programs in Vermont
- Be present at the State House for the reading of the House Resolution on Afterschool (View a copy of the Afterschool Resolution:
HCR280) - Sit with local legislators at lunch and tell them about programs
- Give testimony in key House and Senate committees on how afterschool programs in Vermont support student success
- Learn about award winning programs in VT and share ideas with others from around the state
- Review the latest data on afterschool in Vermont and discuss effective communication and advocacy strategies
- Be inspired by a keynote address by Ray McNulty, educational leader and former VT Commissioner of Education
This year’s event was co-sponsored by the Vermont Center for Afterschool Excellence and the Vermont School Age Care Network.
