Vermont Afterschool regularly hosts FREE field forums on different topics relating to out-of-school time providers and professionals including health, safety guidance, funding, advocacy, and more.
This interactive discussion will focus on strengthening afterschool programs’ efforts to counter persistent stereotypes about STEM, STEM careers, and STEM professionals.
Participants will learn strategies for making afterschool STEM opportunities accessible and equitable, grounded in the Access to STEM Framework. Participants will learn about activities, approaches, and resources to implement with youth that focus on creating meaningful conversations about equity. Through large group and small group discussions, participants will also have the opportunity to learn from one another’s experiences and develop a short-term plan for their own practice.
