Boot Camp Basics Workshop – Active Learning and Youth Voice

Boot Camp Basics are workshops and trainings designed for brand new staff in summer, third space, and out-of-school time programs and are a great way for new staff to orient to the field and learn basic best practices in their work, as well as offer experienced staff opportunities for professional development.

Workshop description: Active learning and youth voice involve much more than giving out materials and listening respectively. In this virtual workshop, we’ll cover active learning by explaining the role it plays in the experiential learning cycle and helping participants create more powerful learning opportunities for youth. We’ll also cover youth voice by building your understanding of what youth voice can be and also showing you how you can infuse it into every aspect of your program and every level of your organization.
