Basic Specialized Care

Basic Specialized Care is a six-hour introductory training for early childhood and afterschool professionals who serve vulnerable children and their families in child care settings. This training is one of the requirements to become a Specialized Child Care Provider in Vermont. Topics covered include: child development, the impact of stress and abuse on development, red flags, working with families and the system, and mandated reporting responsibilities. This class is FREE for those who are enrolled in Afterschool Essentials; otherwise all others are charged $30.
